Planning Resource Library

Planning & Grants Library

The Ottawa County Planning Resource Library provides a single location where planners, elected officials and interested citizens are able to access a variety of information that can assist them in addressing difficult planning challenges.

The Library is one of the few known planning libraries in Michigan, and the only one created by a County. Visitors to the Library can watch educational videos and listen to audio presentations, make copies of articles and planning documents, review local master plans and zoning ordinances*, and check out a variety of planning resources.

The Library includes, but is not limited to, resources related to urban and rural planning, transportation planning, historic preservation, geographic information system (GIS) technology, data and statistics, as well as books on grant-writing and inventories of known grant-funding agencies.

An online index is also available that allows users to search for documents by author, title, and subject, as well as by key words.

* The copies of master plans and zoning ordinances in the Planning Resource Library may not be as up-to-date as are copies on file at the respective local city, township, or village office.
