Types of Influenza

Seasonal Influenza A contagious respiratory illness caused by Influenza viruses. Seasonal Influenza outbreaks occur every year. Illness usually lasts for 2 to 7 days, but complete recovery may take longer. Most people recover completely, but Influenza can sometimes worsen other health problems, which may lead to death.
 
Avian Influenza A disease caused by a virus that infects wild birds such as geese, ducks swans, shorebirds, domestic poultry, and in rare cases, other animals and humans. Also known as bird flu. Click here for more information.
 
Pandemic Influenza A flu that causes a global outbreak of serious illness that spreads easily from person to person. Currently, there is no Influenza pandemic.
