No Worker Left Behind Workshop
This workshop takes place:
Holland: 121 Clover Street – Tuesdays – 10:00 am – 12:00 pm,
Thursdays – 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm
Grand Haven: 1830 172nd Ave., Ste.
G – Wednesdays – 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm.
This workshop will provide attendees an overview of what this program is and how one can qualify for it.
Before you come to the No Worker Left Behind workshop, you must have:- Already put your resume on the Michigan Talent Bank.
- Spoken with a Michigan Works representative and received a packet of information to fill out and bring with you to the workshop.
To make sure you match the initial criteria for the program, make sure you fit one of these categories:
- Persons who are unemployed, OR
- Persons who have received a termination or layoff notice, OR
- Employed persons whose family income is less than $40,000 per year
The workshop will take approximately 2 – 3 hours.
You will be given a presentation providing an overview of the No Worker Left Behind program.
After the presentation you will meet one-on-one with a Michigan Works case manager who will talk to you about what direction you want to be headed relative to a job or career. Next the representative will walk you through the required paperwork to get you enrolled in the No Worker Left Behind program.
After you leave the presentation you will be asked to provide any paperwork which is still needed by the Michigan Works staff. After your paperwork is turned in you will be contacted by phone by your case worker to set up a meeting time when you will discuss your training options.
Please bring with you to the No Worker Left Behind workshop:
- Current drivers license
- Social Security card
- Michigan Talent Bank resume
If applicable to you:
- Unemployment check stub/deposit record
- Unemployment determination letter
- Layoff notice in your name
- Severance letter/package in your name
- Termination letter in your name
- Most recent paycheck stub
- Department of Human Services verification (Bridge card)
- Divorce decree or legal separation or death certificate
- Verification of Stay (Homeless)
Note: Men between the ages of 18 – 46 must be registered for selective service
