General Information

Beginning in 2001, Polkton Charter Township chose to enhance policing efforts with the addition of a contracted community policing position through the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office.

In addition to daily patrol duties, the deputy assigned to this position works closely with township officials to meet the concerns and requests of area residents. With a community focus in mind, the deputy also maintains an active relationship with area schools, churches, and multi-housing communities through involvement in events, fundraisers, and safety and awareness programs.

All requests for law enforcement service should be made to Central Dispatch at (800) 249-0911 (non-emergency) or in the case of an emergency, call 911 directly.

Ottawa County Central Dispatch participates in the Smart911 program. Sign up for Smart911 and create your own Safety Profile to give 9-1-1 valuable information about yourself, family members, your home, pets and even vehicles that will automatically display on the 9-1-1 call taker's screen when you make an emergency call. It's private and secure and you control what information is in your profile. These details can save valuable seconds or even minutes during an emergency. More Information
