Monkeypox (Mpox)

OCDPH is updating our website and materials with the term “mpox” to reduce stigma and other issues associated with prior terminology. This change is aligned with the recent World Health Organization decision and supported by the CDC.

Testing

If you have a new or unexplained rash or other symptoms of mpox, such as fever, chills, exhaustion or other flu-like symptoms, call your health care provider or go to urgent care for testing for mpox. If you cannot do either of those, contact the health department at (616) 396-5266.

Vaccination

OCDPH has vaccine available for any individual who thinks they may have been exposed or is at risk of exposure. If you have questions about your risk or for a vaccine appointment, please call (616) 396-5266.
