The nine libraries in Ottawa County were awarded a Library of Michigan Library Services and Technology Act grant in 2019 that allowed them to acquire 100 T-Mobile hotspots for library patrons to check out. The project aimed to fill the void in internet accessibility and affordability within the county. The Department of Strategic Impact worked with the libraries to design a data-collection system and to evaluate the impact of the 2-year pilot project.
