Before you create a new page, make sure to review Content Best Practices and Getting Started with Divi Builder.
Getting Started
To create a new page, follow these steps.
- Go to Pages.
- Click Add New Page.
- A popup will appear. Click Start Building.
- Add a Page Title.
- On the right sidebar, select the Parent Page.
The Parent Page determines two important things. It sets the URL structure (e.g. miottawa.org/parent/child-page/). The Parent Page also determines which template to use. If you do not select the parent page, your department menu and contact footer will not show.
Insert a Page Layout
When you create a new page, the Divi Backend Builder shows by default. To switch to the Visual Builder, click Build On The Front End at the top of the page. This lets you preview your changes as you go.
Insert a Layout in Backend Builder Mode
To load a layout in the Divi Backend Builder, click the + icon in the purple bar.

To load a template in the Divi Visual Builder, expand the menu at the bottom of the page and click the + icon.
Next, you have the option to choose from a Saved Layout or copy an Existing Page.
After you insert a page layout, add your content and click Publish.
