Ottawa County Parks & Recreation

Grose Park

22200 - 24th Ave.
Casnovia, MI 49318
< Description 1 Description 2 Description 3 Description 3>

Overlooking Crockery Lake from a bluff amid towering trees, this 40 acre park provides a variety of recreational opportunities for the entire family including swimming, fishing, sand volleyball and picnicking. About one mile of hiking trails along a creek and through the woods offers abundant spring wildflowers from mid-April through May. Major improvements were made in 2000 to Grose Park as part of a $660,000 renovation with about 60% of the funding coming from the Michigan Natural Resources Trust Fund.

Note: Ottawa County provides NO LIFEGUARDS at parks with swimming facilities. Grose Park is closed from November 1 through March 31.

Dog Policy

Dogs are permitted at Grose Park. From May 1 through September 30, we ask that you take your pet on designated trails only. For the safety and enjoyment of all park guests, pets must be on ten foot leashes and under control. Owners must clean up after their pet and dispose of waste in a trash receptacle. Dogs are not permitted in park buildings, restrooms, picnic shelters, playground areas, ball fields, volleyball courts, or as posted. Leader dogs for persons with disabilities are permitted in all areas at any time. Recognizing that most dogs enjoy running and playing freely, many Ottawa County Open Space Lands allow dogs year-round off leash. Please note that Grose Park is closed from November 1 through March 31.
