Assessor Training: Practical Application of New, Loss, Adjustments, Additions & Losses

This course is designed for the newly certified assessor, the assessor seeking to improve their confidence in data entry, or the assessor needing to review, refresh and upskill in the application of new, loss, adjustments, additions and losses. Instructors begin by reviewing the terms defined by the STC and MCL211.34d. Guided by a workbook, participants will then be required to work through scenarios involving these valuation terms. Each scenario in the workbook is designed to provide a practical approach to data entry in commonly used CAMA software in addition to guiding discussion on various scenarios that assessors may experience. Discussion on how these terms impact equalization and the millage reduction fraction will also occur. A copy of the workbook, pencil and calculator are required materials needed for this class.
