DBA "Doing Business As"
Registration is required by State Law and is done through the County Clerk's Office.
The first step is to search the businesses registered in
Ottawa County to confirm that the business name you have
selected is available. The Clerk is authorized to reject any assumed name, which is likely
to mislead the public, or is similar to other business names as to lead to confusion or deception.
The law requires that a sole proprietor or co-partners file their business
at the County Clerk's Office. A DBA protects a business from possible name duplications by other businesses.

How to Obtain a Business Registration List
- The Business Registration list contains names and contact information for businesses that
registered in Ottawa County within specified dates.
- Fee is $20 per request and must be paid online during ordering. A convenience fee applies to
your order total.
- Please note: The specified date range cannot exceed 31 days. Please submit
separate orders if your date range is over 31 days.
