Please read and complete the applicable form with as much detail as possible. You may submit the form by email to forensic@miottawa.org or drop off at the front desk of the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office (12220 Fillmore Street) during regular business hours. Once the form is reviewed, you will be contacted regarding your request.

Firearms Scheduled for Disposal – Public Notice
The information below identifies firearms in the custody of the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office that are scheduled for disposal in accordance with applicable Michigan law, including MCL 750.239.
Any individual wishing to claim ownership of a listed firearm must submit a written request to the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office within 30 days of the date of this public notice. In addition to establishing valid ownership, the claimant must be legally authorized to possess firearms under state and federal law.
If no valid ownership claim is received within the 30-day notice period, the listed firearms will be disposed of in accordance with Michigan law.
